One of the Philippine’s largest car rental and fleet management companies, Diamond Rent a Car, hits its 30th year of operations this 2008 and is celebrating in style. Invited to their event at 1 Esplanade are their loyal clients which consist of some of the top notch multinational companies in the country. Apart from being a celebration of Diamond’s 30th anniversary, it is also Diamond’s way of thanking their clients for their patronage and giving Diamond the opportunity to be able to serve them with their fleet management and car rental requirements.
Diamond is responsible for the management of the fleet requirements for innumerable top companies here in the Philippines. From simple occasional or day to day rentals to long term leases, through outsourcing they have entrusted these tasks to Diamond. And as outsourcing becomes one of the most important breakthroughs in modern management, companies are starting to realize that fleet management is another function that is not a core competence and therefore should be outsourced.
To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Diamond has prepared for its guests a night of elegance by having a private viewing of premium sedans, namely the Toyota Camry, the Mazda 6, Honda Accord and the ultra-exclusive Jaguar XF. Master Saxophonist, and modern music master Alvin Cornista will be providing aural treats for the guests with his modern jazz and house music which is gaining popularity in the local independent music scene.
But the highlight of the event is a fashion show by up and coming designer Kaye Cariño-Olfindo who will display twenty of her Diamond-inspired dresses. Kaye comments, “I share Diamond’s passion for excellence and I wanted the clients to feel the same about my show. As Diamond only aims to delight their customers through their cars and service, I wanted the show to be a visual delight for everyone. It was important for me to ensure that the models, the dresses and the theme of the show were in-line with Diamond’s core values of excellence and quality.” Her long time friend and Vice President for Operations at Diamond, Quincy Buenaflor, shares, “I’ve known Kaye for a long time and has always been impressed with her talent. I was very impressed by her designs and is very proud to have her designs and work associated with our company.â€
Kaye’s ready-to-wear line, kstyled, was launched August of 2005. Starting out as a fashion stylist in 2004, her hunger for more brought her to design items that are consigned in boutiques both in Manila and in Cebu. She also has an online store which connects her to clients not just from the Philippines, but from other countries as well. Soon, what started out as just a hobby ended up as a designing business.
Today, Kaye specializes in made-to-order items ranging from casual outfits to formal wear. From classic styles to outfits with a siding of vintage rock, both her ready-to-wear line and custom pieces are a reflection of her own personal style and exuberance.
