roy and cathy’s pre-nup shoot
Roy and Cathy rented Ever Gotesco’s cinema for their funky Old Hollywood pre-nup shoot. I loved, loved, loved the concept and the venue! Cathy wore a couple of my pieces during their shoot and I’d like to share some of the photos with you guys.
11-11-11
Rush, rush, rushing to finish the bridal and entourage gowns for an 11-11-11 wedding, which also turns out to be my due date! Aaargh, the pressure. Here’s a dress for one of the members of the entourage . . . .
Our inspiration is 1950s fashion meets rock ‘n roll. Â Colors for the entourage are black, white, gray and silver . . . . I love it! Sometimes the absence of color can make things more elegant, don’t you think?
sherwin and denise
When Sherwin and Denise asked me to make their entourage gowns, the mission order was to keep it simple and to follow the pink and gray theme.
The bride(zilla)* was actually my blockmate, carpool mate, part of my barkada back in college, and ninang of my daughter. It was fun (and stressful)** working with her and her entourage!
morphing stills
Some of you guys know that my husband Miguel is my resident photographer, web designer, videographer and editor. How lucky can a girl in my position get, right? I’m proud to share with you this video that was part of the Collaburature group show at The Collective last December 16, 2010.
He morphed his still photos to come up with this video and my designs can be seen from 3:05 until 4:21. Enjoy the video!
the ballad of lalita and lambert
When Lali & Abet asked me to make their outfits for their wedding, I immediately said yes even if it coincided with another wedding that I was working on. Â Why? Not only are they good friends, but because it’s a themed wedding! They wanted a Beatles themed wedding so the groom got to wear a Sgt. Pepper inspired outfit while the bride wore a hippie-ish wedding gown. Â And of course the guests were asked to come as hippies!
This photo came with the invite. Abet, being the tech savvy artist that he is, made this picture of his family walking along Abbey Road. The bride and groom’s outfits closely resemble what they actually wore during the wedding.
a sea of blue gowns
Don’t you just love unconventional weddings? Â I’ve had the opportunity to make a red wedding gown, I’m currently making outfits for both groom and bride for a Beatles-themed wedding and just a couple of months back, I made the entourage dresses for Joe & Chok. Â They chose midnight blue as the color for the gowns and I was so happy to make it for them because it’s not usual for a Pinoy couple to choose a dark (almost black) color for their bridal entourage. Â The ninangs and moms wore gowns in different shades of blue which I think worked really well with the midnight blue gowns of the rest of the entourage.
Aside from working with such an awesome couple and the ladies from their entourage, the best part of the whole project was when I got a hug from one of the ninangs after she saw how she looked like in her gown. Â :)
Here are some of the pictures I got (stole) from the couple’s Facebook account. Â Thanks, Joe & Chok!
